#1: Watch more movies and TV
Try watching more American movies and TV shows it is ok to start off with subtitles. Write down words or phrases you don’t understand and ask your teachers or other students is a great way to improve your Vocabulary. This is a great way to build your listening skills also.
#2: Join a club or organization that has NES
WE always suggest of clients to join events or business conferences that they know NESs will be at. This is a great way to practice your English in a natural environment but also it is great to build confidence.
#3: Repeat!! Repeat!! REPEAT!!
You might be surprised to hear this, but part of sounding more natural is imitating natural speech. Listen to how Americans speak. Listen to the way they stress words. Watch a scene in a movie and practice repeating how the actors say something. Imitate the way your friends talk. After a while, you will have a “feel” for how English is supposed to sound. This is a wonderful way to build your Accent that you want be it American or English.
